“[…] designed by Robert Wiebking and first shown as Laclede Oldstyle by the Laclede Type Foundry in 1922. But who was Munder?
Norman T. A. Munder (1870–1954) was a Baltimore-based master printer known for his craftsmanship and innovation in fine printing. Beginning his career as a child, he built a reputation for producing high-quality books, pamphlets, and printed materials for major institutions and clients. His work earned national recognition, including the first gold medal awarded by the AIGA for excellence in book printing. Munder’s influence extended beyond the press, contributing to advancements in printing techniques, materials, and typographic practice.
